Please speak to your travel consultant who will be able to advise you if an entry visa is required for the destination you will be travelling to and if we can assist in arranging this for you. Ultimately the responsibility to source a visa for any destinations where it is required remains with the individual – please ensure that you have yours pre-booked or organised prior to departure. We are able to prearrange visas for Egypt (at the HRG, RMF and CAI airports).

Booking: How much deposit do I have to pay to secure a place on a trip?2020-01-13T10:14:45+01:00

When the trip is more than nine months away we will require an initial 10% deposit per person*. Nine months prior to departure, we will require a further 15% per person, making the total deposit payable 25%.

If the trip is within nine months, the full 25% deposit** will still be required (or full balance if within 12 weeks of departure).

However, if you would like to provisionally hold your package for 24 – 48 hours whilst you decide, we can see if this is possible.
*These terms and conditions are only applicable to blue o two fleet vessels in the Egyptian Red Sea (M/Y blue Horizon, M/Y blue Melody and M/Y Red Sea Adventurer) and M/Y blue Voyager in the Maldives. ** Unless stated otherwise.

We can organise flights from all over the world however when we are unable to organise flights, we will provide you with a quote for a package minus the flights. If you organise your own flights, we will need the details of these so that we can inform our ground crew and organise your transfers.

All tickets are dispatched approx 3 weeks prior to your trip. In the case of late bookings, ticket dispatch or collection will be discussed with the individual or group leader.

No – the majority of airlines no longer provide in-flight meals as standard, however; there will be drinks and snacks available for purchase on all flights.

If you have a booking with us, your airline will be confirmed 8 weeks prior to departure. Once your airline is confirmed, you can contact us for all extras.

The flight to Hurghada takes approximately 5 hours when flying from the UK, 6 hours from Scandinavia and 10 hours from the USA (East Coast) and South Africa.

The flight to Male takes approximately 10 hours when flying direct from the UK, 13 hours when flying direct from Scandinavia, 18 hours from the USA (East Coast) with a stop-over in Dubai and 16 hours from South Africa with a stop-over in Dubai.

To increase security measures at UK airports, it has become necessary to extend pre-flight check-in times. You must check in AT LEAST 2-3 hours before your flight is scheduled to take off. If you fail to check in on time, the airline is entitled to refuse to allow you to board the flight. We cannot accept responsibility if such situations arise, and while we will endeavour to assist in making alternative travel arrangements to get you to your destination, any costs or loss incurred as a result will be your responsibility.

Flights: New Hurghada airport battery regulations2018-10-22T19:19:49+01:00

Introduced as a new security measure, HRG airport now require that batteries be removed from items such as torches and dive computers etc, if they are being carried as hand luggage. If you travel with such items in your hand luggage and batteries are not removed, there is a chance that they will be removed by airport security and disposed of. We therefore recommend that you pack battery operated items and their batteries in your hold luggage.

Flights: Updated security measures for flights from Egypt & Turkey2018-10-22T19:20:55+01:00

New guidelines issued in March 2017 state that phones, tablets, e-readers, laptops, keyboards and external hard drives larger than length: 16.0cm by width: 9.3cm by depth 1.5cm may no longer be carried in the cabin of the aircraft and must be packed as hold luggage. This includes power cables and their transformers, spare batteries and power banks. The measures also mean that spare power sources or batteries can no longer be carried in either the hold or as hand baggage on the aircraft and any such items will be confiscated at check-in. These guidelines also apply to any items purchased at duty free in the airport. Please note that this only affects inbound flights from Egypt back to the UK.

As of December 2017 the electronics ban has been lifted for UK bound flights departing from Hurghada HRG, Marsa Alam RMF and Luxor LXR airports. Passengers on these flights are now allowed to take large phones, laptops, tablets and accessories into the cabin with them. Normal cabin baggage restrictions will continue to apply. Please note there may be additional screening at the departure gate, so please arrive promptly when your flight is called to allow sufficient time to board. The electronics ban is still in effect for flights departing from Cairo CAI airport. Maldives: We purchase flights from a number of airlines including Emirates, BA and Sri Lankan for flights originating from the UK

Baggage allowance is individual to each airline and can vary slightly. As a general rule you are allowed 20kg for the hold and 5kg hand luggage (on a chartered flight) and 7kg hand luggage (on a scheduled flight). Some airlines offer a sporting allowance for divers but if this is not the case then you will be expected to pay a charge for any extra weight. blue o two will not cover any excess baggage charges incurred. If you have a booking with us, your flight will be confirmed 8 weeks prior to departure and you will be able to check your baggage allowance.

Blue O Two gladly welcome non divers on board. There is plenty to keep non divers entertained. Relax on the sundeck with a good book or take advantage of the state of the art multi-media players on board. Non divers can also enjoy some spectacular snorkelling.

You will spend 7 nights on the boat, unless due to our own operations the boat needs to move ports. In this case you will be put in a 4* or 5* star hotel for your last night. There is always the choice to upgrade on your last night if you wish, please get in touch for more details on upgrade options.

On board: What can I expect from staying on a liveaboard?2018-10-22T19:24:43+01:00

Most liveaboard vessels are made from wood and as such a certain level of noise and creaking should be expected due to the movement on the water. You may also be asked by crew to close all of your cabin windows and doors during crossing to prevent water from entering the indoor areas of the boat. Due to the nature of a liveaboard holiday, where up to 10 nights are spent out at sea, outdoor areas may become slippery with sea water. Please pay careful attention to the briefing DVD which will be played as soon as you board the vessel and will cover all safety aspects for your stay on board.

From 1st April 2016, all travellers wishing to enter the US under the VWP will need to hold a passport with an integrated chip (an ePassport). British passports issued since October 2006 are ePassports and carry the internationally recognised symbol on the front cover. If you’re in any doubt about whether you qualify for the VWP, or if you’re concerned that an existing ESTA may have been cancelled due to the new rules, please contact your nearest US Embassy or Consulate.
